Registration and Payment Methods

Due to extra administration work involved, there is an administration fee. To avoid paying for $20 administration fee. The correct procedure to claim SkillFuture Credit is:

PayPal charge a service fee of 3.9% + $0.50 for every transaction. PayPal service fee will be borne by participant if this mode of payment is preferred. Local Bank Transfer is strongly recommended to avoid incurred additional fee. It is convenient and safe.

Canine First Responder Course Benefits

First aid is generally performed by the layperson. The Canine First Responder Course is designed to take layman’s knowledge up to a basic life support (BLS) level so they can provide that support until advance medical help (veterinary care) is available. It covers the basic of primary care and secondary care in a logical sequence of priority which follows the same priority a veterinary, a veterinary nurse or specialist emergency medical animal technician would follow if they were the first on the scene of an injured or ill animal. Canine First Responder courses are designed to make complex topics easy. Participant will learn through seeing, listening, writing, moving and doing which improves knowledge and skills retention. This means that you not only learn the topics on course day, but also retain the information for the future when you'll need it. Its effective and yet have fun while learning too! ​Our training techniques include: Instruction, Demonstration, Hands-on learning, Discussion, Q&A and Videos (including real-life videos).

Refresher Course Matters

You can renew your certificate 1-2 month before the expiry date. If your certificate has lapsed by less than 30 days then this is a Half day course. If it has lapsed by more than 30 days, you will have to attend the full one day course.
All good First Aid Courses in the world will provide a refresher or renewal course. First aid skills need to be regularly updated and practiced, to ensure you’ll be able to do the right thing in an emergency. This refresher training course is designed to equip you with the latest information and techniques. You did the right thing by getting trained in the first place, so it makes sense to keep your knowledge and skills up-to-date. Book a refresher course now and you’ll maintain your confidence as an effective Canine First Responder!
Refresher course is half a day. Upon completion a new certificate will be awarded.

General Enquiries

We cannot practice CPR on a healthy dog or if the heart is beating. CPR can cause serious physical harm to dogs if performed unnecessarily. Simulaid CasPeR and stuffed dogs are used during practical day. Also, the topics are covered in-depth so that learners have a thorough understanding of the principles of canine first aid. Since this is a very comprehensive course, and 9 hour day, we need your full attention and dogs do not come to class.
The booking of this course does not allow for cancellations. However, we are able to reschedule but not refund. If you wish to reschedule then this must be requested at least 15 working days prior to course date. A non-refundable administration fee of $20 applies for every change request. There is no exception due to operational costs incurred. Reschedule of the course will be valid for 1 year of the date you request to postpone.
It is important that the full course is attended to meet requirements for certification. Please do not schedule appointments during the class hours or you may not be able to obtain a certificate. Please make sure you are on time for the course or you may be refused entry. There is a lot to cover and the trainer will not be able to assess you as competent if you miss any of the course topics.
The purpose of completing E-learning quiz is to let participants to have some basic knowledge of the course contents prior to the class. Participants can have a deeper understanding during hands-on practical class. This also helps participants to focus on hands-on and cut down on boring theory. We encourage pet owner's that send their helper in for the course or friends that come for the course as group to study the quiz together.
Yes, we can open a private class at our training venue with a minimum of 6 pax. Subject to availability of date and training room.
Yes, we can and the venue you have must be suitable but we run off-site courses all the time. There is a transport fee of $150 for off-site courses, due to transporting of first aid equipment, traveling time and parking fee.
We suggest that you wear loose-fitting casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice requires kneeling on the floor. Trousers and flat shoes are recommended.
Canine First Aid participant must be at least 18 years of age or over. Or alternative be accompanied by a parent or guardian (Required to register and pay for full course).
No, you do not need to have any first aid skills beforehand. However, basic understanding of English is required as Training Manual, Video and Practical Training will be conducted in English.
There is no substitute for hands-on skilled training. A good First Aid Course will be taught in class with hands-on training with a canine manikin "CasPer for CPR" to ensure proper first aid skills is performed.
We minimise theory during class and focus 80% on practical training. Most important, class is conducted in a fun and interactive learning method. To make learning easy to remember!
Canine First Responder courses are performance based. Learners need to understand and perform the skills during practical training to receive International Certification from U.K.

The maximum Student to Instructor ratio is 12:1. To ensure the quality of the course, we keep our class size small, to a maximum 12 pax. However, we can teach larger group if there is a request.
